People are not aware of the “airport concierge” service that can cause your vacation to be a lot more pleasurable the minute you arrive at your destination. This services’ job is to take care of all the bureaucracy so you will be able to be free in mind and get into vacation mode.
We have combined a list of 10 things that you simply MUST do before going on your trip
- Your first decision, where to fly
There are so many options when it comes to destinations around the world, so when it comes to deciding there are many people that see this as very critical because they fly rarely and want to use their time and money in a smart manner and see a new place every time. On the other hand, there are people that love going back to their favorite places, which they have already visited in the past because they enjoy going back to what is most comfortable and well known for them.
Of course, it also depends on the season and your personality. The people you choose to fly with on your vacation are also important, what is the goal of your vacation? Are you surprising a friend/family member maybe?
- Now that we have chosen a destination, the next step on our list is booking your flight tickets.
Whether we have planned a vacation a long time ahead or at the last minute, the most important thing are the tickets that will take you to your destination. You can book your tickets online on various websites, with the help of flight agencies or of course with the airline company itself.
- After we have taken care of the airplane tickets, we must find a place for our stay abroad.
Today there are various options that stand before tourists –
You can decide to stay in a hotel; inns or hostels are also an option.
In our modern decade, a lot of us have a hard time saving up for our dream vacation. How do we make this easier? It is important, that when we choose a place to stay it will be close to the center of the city, so we do not feel disconnected whilst our stay abroad.
We want to experience as much as we can from the place we are visiting.
- Checking and investigating the special sites of our destination
For those of us that prefer the old-fashioned way, you can search in different tourism books. This can be very useful on your trip and can give you a better idea of the history and stories that live in your destination.
- Order tickets to certain activities that require booking ahead of time, in advance.
Now that we have booked our flight, our hotel and read all about the place and what activities it has to offer, it would be best if you ordered tickets to your favorite activities. This way, you will know that you have a “safe” entry to the more highly requested activities.
- Options instead of walking.
If you do not fancy walking much, you can rent a car or bicycle and keep touring as you please.
- We live in a modern time; therefore, we all have camera phones.
Most of them are very high quality cameras but some of us still prefer real original cameras that photograph like old times. My advice would be to make a short video that shows the fun time you had on your vacation, this way you can remember it forever!
- Breaking our daily routine.
For a lot of us it is very hard to break our daily routines, even if it is only for a short period. We disconnect from almost everything that is in our daily life, which can be difficult sometimes. Which is why some of us enjoy taking laptops for instance. There is nothing wrong with this, and if this makes you feel more comfortable on your trip feel free to take your laptop with you!
- What are the laws of the place you have arrived to
It is very important to check the laws and the codes of behavior in the place you visit. We don’t want to embarrass ourselves or even jeopardize our stay. We also have to remember that we are representing the place we are coming from and do not want to make the wrong impression. Therefore, no matter where we are going it is important that we drive in a polite and respectful manner and remember that the social norms can be different from where you are coming from.
- Shopping on your trip
A lot of us enjoy having shopping sprees on our vacation, since in Israel the prices are very high. People are willing to walk around and purchase in different shops around the city during their stay.
Some do not know this but, when you are a tourist and you shop, you are not obligated to pay taxes.
How does this work? When you buy something in a store, you ask the cashier for a recite in order to get back the tax pays.
On our way back from vacationing, at the airport we approach the tax-return desks and present to them our recites. We must also remember that we need to get to a certain price in order to get tax returns, so we will not get tax returns on all our purchases.
That brings our list of 10 things that you simply MUST do before going on your trip to an end! Questions that disturb all of us when we prepare for a new trip.
Hope this was helpful.
Have a great vacation!
